January 13 :

Arbi Wienandar (Economic Faculty ), Valentina Sahasra Kirana ( Law Faculty ), Fachrul Sidiq ( SEF ), and Yeni Mujiatin ( SEF ) started their journey, departed from House of SEF and went by train directly to Jatinegara station ( Jakarta ). We arrived in the morning, when Fachrul's sister picked us up and sent us to Soekarno Hatta Air Port. The flight was only 2 hours by Sriwijaya Air and we arrived in Hasanuddin Air Port at 4 PM ( WITA ). We spent our night in Aman Hotel for a night while waiting for tomorrow Opening Ceremony of IVED 2011 in Hasanuddin University ( UNHAS )

January 14 :

The Opening Ceremony was held with several dances of Sulawesi speciality and finished by IVED 2011's Debaters and Adjudicators Seminar. The seminar was all about techniques of adjudicating and debating of IVED 2011. In the night, we were sent to Amaris Hotel ( Executive Hotel in Makassar ) for having a rest while waiting for tomorrow's 1st day of IVED 2011

January 15 :

First day of IVED 2011, 3 preliminary rounds to be played from overall 6 preliminaries. 1st match UNSOED faced UNPAR ( Champion of Europe-Union Debating Championship ), and we won for 2 margin. 2nd match was harder, UNSOED faced UNHAS ( Grand-Finalist of Bawor Cup and International Debater Inside ), and we won for 1,5 margin. The 3rd match getting more difficult, UNSOED faced UI ( None of you must doubt this university ), we won for 1 margin and Mr.Arbi became the best speaker with 77 for the score in above average debate quality ( This moment is the unforgettable one ). First day, UNSOED finished with 3 VP ( No lose )

January 16 & 17 :

The hardest day for us, we lost 3 matches in a row versus UI, UNEM, and UNES. They were great, we lost and we finish in 21st Rank from around 54 teams, so we can not break to octo final round ( top 16 teams ). But, UNSOED passed to the semi-final of Novice Break ( 1st Rank ). Novice Break is a mini tournament inside IVED 2011 that have a condition for only the team who not break the open break tournament. In semi-final of Novice, we faced IPB and we lost. So the achievement of UNSOED in IVED 2011 just finished in 21st Rank and Semi-Finalist of Novice break. On January 17, we had our city tour to Fort Rotterdam, Somba Ompu ( The place for shopping such handicraft, clotches,etc ), Losari beach, and Trans Studio. Yeah, we had a great moment in trans studio, melting with all debaters all over Indonesia and having fun together for around 6 hours before the break night party ( a party to announce the top 16 teams that break to octo fnal round ).

January 18 :

Final Round of IVED 2011, UGM vs UI, and the winner is UGM. Best of the best speaker of IVED 2011 is Rivan from ITB. And I just finished in 45th Rank of best speaker from around 160 debaters. Valen just finish around 60th Rank, and Fachrul around 75th Rank.

January 19 :

We went home to purwokerto and would be the time for us to proliferate our experience to English Debating Society in UNSOED.
